“You may have seen notice around school about the closure of Falmer High School. Please do not panic or worry about this. It is part of a legal process that we have to go through in order for an Academy to open.

The new Falmer Academy is due to open in September 2010. The Academy will provide our community with a brand new school and increased opportunities for young people attending the school. It is a very exciting time for us all.

Falmer High school will need to close on 31st August in order for the new Academy to open on 1st September (the next day).

Consequently, the Local Authority need to give notice that Falmer High will close (so the Academy can open) - hence the notice that have been put up in and around school.

Please note if the Academy does not happen Falmer High will NOT close.
