Falmer School Awarded Healthy School Status in March 2008

Falmer High School achieved National Healthy School status in March 2008.

This status is awarded across four areas in which the school had to meet the following agreed national criteria:

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Citizenship
Healthy Eating
Physical Activity
Emotional Health and Well Being

In all four areas the school was commended for its provision. Some examples of good practice include innovative transition work for students moving from Year 6 to Year 7; a high profile for Healthy Eating initiatives; opportunities for student leadership and vocational qualifications in PE; and a wide range of proactive work in the area of emotional health and well being.
